January 17-18, 2009 - Hayward, CA
Bay Island Bonsai presents the 10th Anniversary of An Exhibit of Fine Bonsai at Centennial Hall, 22292 Foothill Blvd., Hayward, CA. Hours are Saturday and Sunday 10 am to 4 pm. This will be the largest exhibit of bonsai trees in the history of the club with over 75 formal displays of high quality bonsai trees and accent plants. On Saturday, a very high quality bonsai auction will be held. The auction preview will be at 12 noon with the live auction at 1-3 pm. On Sunday, a silent auction of specially selected trees and bonsai pots is scheduled for 10 am to 1 pm, and a demonstration by Boon on a very old Western Juniper will occur from 1-3 pm. A benefit drawing at 4 pm on Sunday will be held. You need not be present to win. Vendors will be available both days from 10 am to 4 pm. There is a single $5 admission fee for both days and all events and parking is free
March 19-23, 2009 - Orlando, FL
Bonsai Societies of Florida (BSF) is proud to announce our 2009 convention "Bonsai in Florida Through the Years" at the Sun Resort in Orlando, Florida. Our guest artists will be Boon Manakitivipart, Suthin Sukosolvisit, Min Hsuan Lo and Pedro Morales. Guests will be treated to World Class demonstrations and workshops with our artists. - The convention will be at the Sun Resort in Orlando. We have secured a room rate of $89 a night for convention registrants. Guests are invited to come early and take advantage of this great location. The resort is within three miles of Disney World and as well as other area attractions. - The convention will encompass one of the largest exhibits of Florida bonsai specimens. Guests can expect to see a extensive display of trees, and for the first time in Florida, an superb exhibit of Florida's finest Shohin specimens.

MidAtlantic Bonsai Societies 26th Annual Spring Festival at the Hudson Valley Resort & Spa, 400 Granite Rd. Kerhonkson, N.Y. The Bonsai Society of Greater St Louis - Shohin St. Louis “Little Trees Big Event” at the Gateway Center, One Gateway Dr.,Collinsville, IL 62234. Featuring Nobuichi Urushibata, President of the Shohin Society of Japan doing two workshops a White Pine and Shimpaku (Space is limited) and two demonstrations. May 1-2, 2009 - Sequim, WA
The Dungeness Bonsai Society - 33rd Annual Exhibition, will be held at the St. Luke Episcopal Church 525 N. 5th St. Sequim WA, both days from 10am to 5pm with nearly 90 beautiful trees in both modern and traditional styles. There will be live demonstrations each day, as well as video presentations, salse table and helpful club members.
May 1-3, 2009 - Washington DC
National Bonsai Foundation - Potomac Bonsai Festival, will be held at the U.S. National Arboretum, Washington DC, from 10am to 5pm. The 2009 Potomac Bonsai Festival features something for everyone, from the interested beginner to the accomplished bonsai artist. The festival offers exhibits, vendors, demonstrations, and free and fee-based lectures and workshops. Visiting bonsai artists David DeGroot and Dave Kreutz will offer their expertise at a number of programs throughout the weekend. The festival is co-sponsored by the Potomac Bonsai Association, the National Bonsai Foundation, and the National Arboretum. Free.

The American Bonsai Society (ABS) - "American Bonsai Spirit" - The 2009 Learning Seminars - A bonsai learning experience for all at the Doubletree Hotell in Boise, Idaho. Come and learn from Bonsai Teaching Masters in a great new classroom format designed to instruct and inspire you. - 32 bonsai learning classes will be offered. Bonsai Clubs International (BCI) presents "Survivors of the Storm" in the New Orleans Botanical Garden at City Park in New Orleans, LA. BCI's annual meeting presents Peter Chan of Great Britain, Sandro Segneri & Massimo Bandera of Italy, Tedy Boy of Indonesia, Nacho Marin of Venezuela, Lindsay & Glenis Bebb of Australia, I.C. Su of Taiwan, Willi Benz of Germany and William Valavinis, Ed Trout, Guy Guidry, Dora Ross, Richard Cranford, Jim and Linda Brant of the USA will present demonstrations and workshops using pomegranate, bottle brush, boxwood, crape myrtle and more. June 20, 2009 - Columbus, OH
Columbus Bonsai Society will be holding its Annual Bonsai Show Saturday, June 20, from 10 am until 5 pm at the Franklin Park Conservatory, located on the eastside of downtown Columbus at 1777 East Broad Street. Admission to the Bonsai events is open to the public and is free with general admission to the Conservatory which has a modest cover charge. Informal demos will take place during
the event. A "Question & Answer" table will be staffed by club members. Lectures: A morning session on Bonsai Art and Aesthetics will by Jose Cueto, starting at 11 am. In the afternoon, Bill Webster will
conduct a session on Japanese gardens at 2 pm. A full selection of finished bonsai, plant materials, pots, tools, supplies and books will be available to purchase from guest vendors.

Midori Bonsai Club is hosting the Midori's 48th Annual Bonsai Show at 488 N. 6th St. San Jose, CA from 10 am to 4:30 pm. The 48th Annual Bonsai Show includes 18 seperate 2 and 3 point displays of fine bonsai. Nationally acclaimed artist, Boon Manakitivipart will style a bunjin Japanese Black pine at 1:30pm. Trees, tools and bonsai accessories will be offered by Jim Gremel, and Shibui Bonsai and others.
